Beef and lamb prices have eased over the month, as dry weather and increasing supply has allowed the meat companies to lower prices. Recent rainfall this week, with more forecast, may put pressure on processors to limit schedule reductions in the short-term as stock supply reduces.
Cattle sales continue to go well, with the more cattle killed YTD than budgeted and at better prices. Lamb sales are steady, with YTD sales broadly in line with expectations. We expect to have good numbers to sell in January from the trade lambs purchased at Wharenui and Tihio-o-tonga.
New Tihi-o-Tonga staff member has performed to a high level during this time, mostly in the absence of a permanent manager and has exceeded expectations.
There have been no incidents or accidents to report on farm this month.
