April was a wet month with over 300mm of rain on all three farms – Pasture covers remain good across all three farms. See brief points about each Station below:
Wharenui Station: Winter Kale crops have been measured prior to winter feeding and is in line with projections. Winter oats have been sown following maize harvest. Lamb sales above budget and there will be aproximately 1500 lambs to be killed in the coming 3 weeks. Cattle Yards are being upgraded to include a full concrete yarding area, weighing/handling crushes, vet races and loading facilities which will assist our staff and improve Health & Safety.
Tihi-o-Tonga Station: We have now sold 2,293 lambs to date. 8 Wagyu x Heifers killed earlier in the month with improved marbling scores. We have 300 dairy cows coming to graze for eaight weeks in May and purchased a number of Wagyu x Angus Heifers.
Ngongotahā Station: Lambs wool ready to be sold. Weaner Wagyu Steers purchased in the first week of May and final tranche of lambs looking to be sold in May. Mower needing to be repaired and issues with water being looked at.
